Legal Counsel – Contracts, Compliance & Data Protection (Health Sector)

What are we looking for
The Kusnacht Practice is seeking a Legal Counsel (60%- 80%) to further strengthen our in-house capabilities and who will also perform the function of Data Protection Officer (DPO). This role will support a broad range of legal matters, including client and service agreements, internal processes, data protection, and HR-related topics. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our Executive Team, as well as colleagues across the medical and operations departments, and will also engage with external stakeholders, playing an integral role in our ongoing transformational journey
Your Responsibilities
  • Review and advise on client agreements, medical service terms, and partner/vendor contracts, always reflecting our commitment to discretion, clarity, and excellence
  • Oversee data protection efforts across the organisation, ensuring alignment with Swiss data protection law and the GDPR
  • Act as a key point of contact for all compliance and data privacy topics, including sensitive health data, digital records, and internal guidelines
  • Support the legal aspects of our digital transformation, including procurement, digital processes, and clinical systems
  • Provide legal support on HR-related matters, including employment law compliance and internal documentation
  • Support the CEO Office on legal matters related to both local and international initiatives
  • Liaise with external legal advisors and relevant authorities as needed
You are/have
  • Completed university law degree under Swiss law; admission to the Bar is an advantage
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant practical work experience as a lawyer, ideally in the health, life sciences, or tech sectors
  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience in Swiss labour law
  • Proven expertise and strong knowledge of data protection legislation applicable in Switzerland (revised Swiss FADP) and the European Union (GDPR)
  • Experience working with HR and/or advising on employment-related legal issues
  • Familiarity with digital tools, data processing platforms, or IT contracts is a plus
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills in both German and English
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach
